Our Story
How did Dodod Bakery start?
Although our shop name in English is Dodo Bakery (which we named after our dog 🤭), our name in Chinese (甜蜜时光) actually means "Sweet Time"
I'd like to share with you the sweet story of how we got our name, '甜蜜时光' (Sweet Times): Sha Tin New Town Plaza, a very familiar and unforgettable place. 27 years ago, I worked on the third floor at a restaurant here, and he worked as a baker at the A~1 bakery on the first floor of the New Town Plaza. We both took the same bus to and from work every day, yet we didn't know each other. Until one rainy day when he forgot his umbrella, and I forgot to bring change for the bus fare, we both sought help and amusingly got to know each other.

Ordered a 10 inch cake for my son’s first birthday and it was delicious!! Got vanilla with taro cream. It was delicious, decorated beautifully, nicely boxed up, and even came with some candles!! 10/10 highly recommend.

One of the hidden gems in South Philly! Everything was fresh and soft and had plenty of options for drinks as well including Bubble tea and smoothies. There were tons of options and they also have made to order cake as well.

Decided to check out this new bakery and I can say I’ll be coming back! It’s on a little corner on a busy road but plenty of parking around. I got the coconut tart, sticky rice, pineapple custard, and corn buns. I was most excited to try the zongzhi, and I didn’t realize it was the savory version (I tend to prefer sweet zongzhi more) but I still really enjoyed eating it! It was huge and had lots of filling, I got full just from eating one of them. I highly recommend this cute bakery!
